Kerry Potts attended Simsbury High School and went on to graduate Syracuse University with a bachelors degree in nursing. While working as an RN in Boston, Kerry obtained her masters degree in nursing from Boston College and became a nurse practitioner.
Along with owning a Pop Weight Loss franchise, Kerry currently works as a school nurse.
Kerry has always had a passion for nutrition. She saw that many of her patients suffered from multiple health problems because of obesity and/or poor nutrition. After reading Dr. Rebecca’s book and learning about the Pop program, Kerry knew that she could really help clients get healthy.
Kerry has 3 children and enjoys spending time with them. Her favorite activities include running, skiing, reading and swimming. She is currently training for a 1/2 marathon. Kerry also coaches her daughter’s soccer team and is a Brownie leader.
“As a Nurse Practitioner and an RN I have always had trouble finding programs that would help my patients loose weight and get healthy. When I learned about Pop I knew that I had finally found a program that would teach people how to eat for their health. Good nutrition leads to healthy life. Donna Nucci has been a practicing nurse for 28 years. After graduating from Salve Regina, Donna went on to practice as a pediatric oncology nurse for many years. She has worked in many specialties, In addition to POP Donna is an infectious disease nurse at Yale New Haven Hospital.
Several years ago, Donna met Dr. Rebecca and decided to take a leap of faith by opening Pop Weight Loss in Connecticut. Pop was the perfect way for Donna to follow her personal and professional passion for health and wellness. Donna loves how Pop Weight Loss transforms clients’ health. Pop health talks and meeting with clients have been rewarding beyond all expectations.
Donna finds it extremely rewarding to be on the health prevention side of medicine instead of the illness side. Helping reduce chronic illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease is a goal of every health professional. The business model of Pop allows professional nutritionists and nurses to work one-on-one with clients each week to meet their goals. Along with her partner Kerry Potts, Donna hopes to expand Pop over the next few years to be able to bring health and wellness through nutrition to the entire state. Donna is the mother of four, with two college students and two high school students at home. Donna and her husband Gregory live in Old Saybrook, Connecticut. When not working as a nurse or at Pop, Donna enjoys skiing, traveling and cooking.
Residing in Westbrook, CT, Kara is dedicated to bringing healthy eating habits to the shoreline. Kara received her B.S. in neuroscience from Wheaton College before earning her M.S. in human nutrition, from the University of Bridgeport, where she graduated cum laude. Kara began her career counseling clients and teaching nutrition classes in Fairfield County. She joined Pop Old Saybrook during its opening in the spring of 2014. Kara loves developing bonds with her clients and witnessing them succeed. Outside of Pop, Kara enjoys cooking, traveling and spending time with her beloved pooch, Holly.
Jen Thomas holds two degrees in nutrition and is a certified personal trainer. She earned her Bachelors in Nutrition Communications from Arizona State University and her Masters in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport. Jen has coached thousands of individuals through worksite wellness and personal training. These experiences have enabled her to finetune her understanding of the relationship between a person, food, and their lifestyle. “I am so excited to be with POP because it encompasses everything that I found to be true in the nutrition world. Our society has spent decades trying to make fad diets and quick fixes work, but they don’t. I feel like we’ve come full circle and are finally ready to learn how to eat real food, in the real world. At POP we don’t just help you lose weight or get healthier, we teach you how to navigate this crazy, junk-food world, we show you how to change your habits, your mindset, and your attitude; and we find the path that fits you best. We are here to change the world, one person at a time.”
Jen’s personal life is centered around her two energetic boys and living life to the fullest. Her family of four can often be found taking long walks, playing in the yard, or going on adventures. Her lifestyle includes exercise, yoga, meditation, cooking, gardening, hiking, and being a lifelong learner.
Michelle graduated from the University of New Haven with a B.A. in nutrition and dietetics. Michelle began work as a lifestyle coach where she shared insights into healthy living with her clientele. Michelle then worked at WIC in New Haven, CT. Michelle thrives on the one-on-one welcoming environment at Pop. The positive vibe allows her to share her enthusiasm for healthy, whole foods with the residents of the shoreline.
